"Put away the sword" was the theme of the Faith and Resistance retreat held in Washington DC during Holy Week, 2010.
On Good Friday, the participants in the Faith and Resistance Retreat went to the Pentagon to be there in silent witness as people went into the Pentagon to begin their work day.
On Good Friday, the Contemporary Crucifixion of Jesus is reflected on and remembered in front of the White House.
About 34 people from the Faith and Resistance Retreat circled the outside of the Air and Space museum. They wore mourning robes and masks, and carried signs remembering people enduring war. Their banner read: "Disarm all weapons of mass destruction so kids can live in a world at peace." Meanwhile, six people went inside the museum and talked to people who were looking at the drones and the missile pit. Â
